Company ProfileAlderney Surveys is a multi-discipline professional land surveying and survey-engineering firm headquartered in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We offer comprehensive services in surveying including legal boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction and quantity surveys, subdivision surveys, geodetic control, dimensional control surveys, hydrographic surveys, pipeline construction and as-built surveys and property mapping services. In addition we have significant experience in as-built surveys of steel natural gas pipe for the natural gas industry. Our team employs a variety of complementary technologies, equipment and techniques to ensure each assignment will be successfully completed within budget and time constraints. We utilize Total Stations and real-time kinematics GPS technology to manage large amounts of field data in an efficient manner.
The professional land surveyors with Alderney Surveys are: Joe Alcorn, N.S.L.S. – President - Mr. Alcorn has 28 years experience in Professional Land Surveying. He has experience in the project management for large construction and legal surveying projects. Mr. Alcorn is responsible for the Quality Assurance of all projects taken on by Alderney Surveys. Bruce Mahar, P.Eng., N.S.L.S. - Mr. Mahar is our senior project manager with 24 years experience in surveying and survey engineering. Bruce has overseen numerous projects including control surveys using G.P.S. technology, the re-alignment of 7 kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway, alignment of air traffic control radar at C.F.B. Greenwood and C.F.B. Trenton, and control point survey for a harbour traffic monitoring system. Michael Crant, N.S.L.S. - Mr. Crant with 30 years experience in professional surveying has been with our firm for the past five years. He has extensive experience in construction and legal surveying as well as spending 2 years as an instructor in surveying in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Crant oversees a large portion of Alderney Surveys Subdivision and legal boundary retracement work.
